May 8th witnessed holding of China Enterprises Intelligent Marketing Innovation Summit in Shanghai, and over 1,000 owners of enterprises participated in it. And on the conference, Baidu’s general manager for sales – Gu Guodong made a speech about how Baidu helps enterprises deal with marketing in this new era.
Gu pointed out three pain points in today’s marketing: how to let your potential clients know your brand? Do you know where your potential clients are? Do your potential clients know where you are?
“Explosion of data, upgrades of technology and improvement of computing capability have caused innovations in medias, and thus are forcing enterprises to be creative in marketing,” said Gu. “And today I’m bringing to you three unique skills to face the challenges.”
According to Gu, to resolve the first problem – “potential clients don’t know your brand”, Baidu has launched a solution containing “opening screen ads“, “focus screen ads” and “brand zone” features.
Opening screen ads are ads displayed in the beginning of starting Baidu’s apps, which are said to be have a daily traffic of 200 million. The feature of focus screen ads is to use Baidu AI’s face recognition function to identify people standing in front of physical screens, to show customized advertisements.
And “brand zone” is to present customized advertisements to potential customers based on their search terms.
And to solve the problem of “potential clients don’t know where you are”, Baidu’s solution is “search + information flow” – the latter is “in-feed ads”. Gu said Baidu could use its hundreds of millions of daily searches to allocate keywords for its clients and attract their potential customers to their businesses, while “information flow” is to recommend relevant information to people in need, as Baidu can confirm its users’ intentions based on its millions of intention labels.
And for the problem “potential clients don’t know where you are”, Baidu offers a solution of “local ads”. By connecting “Baidu” app and “Baidu Nuomi” app, Baidu could help local businesses reach their potential clients located within 5 – 30 kilometers and manage their passenger volumes and business opportunities.
Gu claimed that Baidu’s above three unique skills have helped many Chinese enterprises improve their brand value.
