Why it’s Necessary to Submit Your URLs to Baidu and How to Do it

It’s known that Baidu doesn’t do a good job in indexing new pages – especially from a new website, or in confirming whether an article is original or plagiarism.

I have a personal Chinese blog on translation, I wrote all the articles by myself for it in the past 6 years, but they still needs to wait for 2 to 4 days after publishing to be indexed by Baidu.

Fortunately, the blog is old and quality enough for Baidu to believe that its content is original, but for those new sites/pages targeting Chinese market, it might take a longer time for Baidu to index and evaluate them, and they would face greater risks of being copied and losing rankings.

Therefore, it is necessary for you to submit your URLs to Baidu manually. In Baidu’s Webmaster tool, you can manually submit your URLs in batches or one by one, depending on whether your site has been “verified” – added to the console.

The submission link is https://ziyuan.baidu.com/linksubmit/index, but for people who cannot read Chinese, it’s still troublesome and difficult.

There is also a “Automatic Submission” option beside the manual one, but you would need to do some tech work and your site might not be compatible with Baidu’s interface.

Apart from the webmaster tool, Baidu also has Bear Paw Account for web owners to submit their ORIGINAL content, and the means of submitting is quite similar, just via another interface, yet before that, you would have to be approved as a qualified site by Baidu’s auditors.

So, Baidu has been trying to cover its algorithmic shortages in indexing and evaluating online content, and in order to speed up its indexing of your pages and avoid being copied by bad websites, which are numerous in China.

We could help you submit your URLs to Baidu as a favor, and welcome to consult us about overall audit of your site, keyword research or any other SEO services.
